The training focuses on First Nations paediatric lung health and the skills required to effectively engage with First Nations families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training consists of two modules, which will take approximately one hour each to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By completing <strong>Lung Health in First Nations Children: Improving Outcomes Through Culturally Secure Care (management of chronic wet cough, protracted bacterial bronchitis and bronchiectasis)<\/strong>, you will acquire the skills to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Effectively engage with First Nations families about paediatric lung health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify respiratory conditions most often mis\/undiagnosed in First Nations children presenting with chronic wet cough: Protracted Bacterial Bronchitis (PBB), Chronic Suppurative Lung Disease (CSLD), and bronchiectasis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage PBB, CSLD and bronchiectasis according to best practice guidelines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand the importance of follow-up for First Nations children hospitalised with chest infections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By completing<strong> Lung Health in First Nations Children: Asthma Diagnosis and Interpretation of Spirometry<\/strong>, you will acquire the skills to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take a respiratory history from First Nations families in a culturally appropriate way<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Describe basic asthma pathophysiology, symptoms, and other conditions that mimic asthma<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interpret basic spirometry and make an appropriate diagnosis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mitigate common issues in spirometry and apply quality control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In collaboration with Telethon Kids Institute
