Common symptoms of a flare-up include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coughing more than usual<\/li>\n<li>Finding it harder to breathe (increased breathlessness)<\/li>\n<li>Changes in sputum (more or thicker sputum)<\/li>\n<li>Being more tired than usual (less active)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may need to go to hospital if you are experiencing any of the symptoms above, or you have at least one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You find it hard to talk<\/li>\n<li>You find it hard to walk<\/li>\n<li>You can\u2019t sleep because of shortness of breath<\/li>\n<li>You feel drowsy or confused<\/li>\n<li>Your lips or fingernails have turned grey or blue<\/li>\n<li>Your heartbeat or pulse is very fast or irregular<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A delay of 24 hours or more in seeking treatment
